Lady Zainab (PBUH) Promoted Ashura through Her Jihad of Explanation

The Director of Jamiat al-Zahra Seminary (PBUH) has underlined the decisive role of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) in preserving the message of Ashura, saying her precise narration of Imam Hussein’s (PBUH) uprising and her steadfastness made the tragedy of Karbala eternal.

Hawzah News Agency- Seyedeh Zohreh Borqei made the remarks during a meeting with Sheikh Zain al-Abidin, Director of the Dar al-Zahra Complex in Thailand, attended by a number of students and graduates of the center.

Mrs. Borqei stressed that sincerity in action brings divine blessing and effectiveness to human endeavors, warning that global powers are engaged in spreading distorted narratives of Islam.

“Those who have waged wars and caused the bloodshed of thousands of innocent women and children now speak of peace while labeling Muslims as warmongers,” she said. “Your role in presenting the true image of Islam in your countries is crucial in countering this psychological warfare.”

She said Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) immortalized Ashura through her unwavering devotion and eloquent explanation of Imam Hussein’s (PBUH) mission.

“The secret behind the saying ‘Karbala would have remained in Karbala if it were not for Zainab’ lies in her Jihad of explanation,” Borqei noted.

The senior scholar emphasized that Muslims today must follow that same path — clarifying the truth and conveying accurate accounts of global realities, particularly the ongoing war in Gaza.

“During Karbala, the army of disbelief seemed victorious, but Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) entered the battlefield of psychological confrontation. Her reasoning, grounded in the Qur’an and the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), transformed that tragedy into a lasting triumph,” she said.

Borqei, who is also a member of the Policy Council of the Women Seminaries, said the enemies of Islam continue to distort truth through their vast propaganda networks.

“We must walk in the path of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) and expose the reality to the world,” she emphasized.

Marking the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), Borqei highlighted the need for deeper understanding of the Prophet’s life and character as the strongest foundation for unity among Muslims.

“Focusing on the shared values of Islamic sects and divine religions paves the way for genuine unity and lasting global peace,” she said.

Concluding the meeting, Sheikh Zain al-Abidin praised Jamiat al-Zahra Seminary for its contributions to the advancement of women’s education and called for stronger academic and educational cooperation between the seminary and Dar al-Zahra in Thailand.
